Tonya Stephens has extensive experience in the field of Human Resources. Tonya currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at USRA, where they manage a workforce of 500 employees and over 300 contingent staff in various areas of space, research, development, operations, and facilities management. Prior to this, they worked at StrategicHealthSolutions as a Sr. HR Partner and at Foster Thomas Consulting as a Sr. HR Consultant. Tonya also held the position of Managing Director, Human Resources Division at the American Diabetes Association, where they were responsible for overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and talent retention strategies. Additionally, they have extensive experience in the government sector, having worked at organizations such as Science Applications International Corporation, SAIC, CSC, DIGICON Corporation, Automated Sciences Group, and the Department of Navy. Their roles at these organizations included positions such as AVP and Sr. Group Human Resources Manager, Assistant Vice President, Sr. Employee Relations Specialist, Technical Recruiter & EEO Administrator, Human Resources Generalist, and Employment Specialist & Recruiter.
Tonya Stephens has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Business Management from the University of Maryland, College. Tonya also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from American University, which they obtained between 2001 and 2003. Moreover, they attended Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in 2003, studying Executive Leadership, but did not complete a degree.
