Emmanuel Bourdon is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in higher education and research. Since January 2003, Emmanuel has served as a Professor at Université de La Réunion, focusing on Human Physiology and conducting research on oxidative stress and cell interactions in the context of diabetes. Previously, Emmanuel held professorial roles at GEICO Groupe d'étude sur l'inflammation chronique et l'obésité from 2004 to June 2022, and at the University of La Réunion and the laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from February 2004 to August 2012. Additionally, Emmanuel completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health from December 2000 to October 2002, working in the research group of Dr. Tracey Rouault on iron metabolism. Emmanuel earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Physiology from the University from 1991 to 2000.
