Marcelo Zerillo currently serves as an Assistant Professor at both Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso and Universidad EAFIT since November 2022. Previously, Marcelo held the position of Postdoctoral Fellow at Nederlands Instituut voor Ecologie from January 2015 to February 2016 and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Colorado State University from July 2008 to July 2013, focusing on the population genetics of Geosmithia morbida. Marcelo earned a PhD in Biotechnology from Universidade de São Paulo, where research involved comparative genomic analysis, and also served as a Laboratory Manager at the same institution. Marcelo holds a B.Sc in Biology from Universidade Estadual Paulista and completed high school at Colégio Meninópolis.
