Miguel Ángel Medina is an experienced deep learning researcher and data scientist currently affiliated with the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria since November 2020, where responsibilities include network calculations, routing, and predictive modeling for maritime trade. Previous roles include a computer vision researcher focused on people recognition in videos using deep learning techniques, as well as freelance work as a software engineer developing web services for data protection compliance and natural language processing systems. Miguel Ángel also served as a junior software developer at Dr. Stetter ITQ, contributing to the development of a chatbot using RASA and an application for meteorological data visualization. Academic achievements include ongoing doctoral studies in Artificial Intelligence with a focus on deep learning, a master's degree in Smart Systems and Numerical Applications in Engineering, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, all from the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
