Masako Taguchi

Masako Taguchi has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple leadership roles in human resources. Masako began their career at IBM in 2003, where they worked as an Associate Consultant, Consultant, and Senior Consultant in the Human Capital Management Team. In 2009, they became the HR Global Operation Transition Manager, leading a change management project to transfer HR Operations from Japan to China. During this time, they also initiated the opening of the first on-site nursery school in IBM Japan, which led to the company winning Nikkei's prestigious #1 prize for Best Company for Working Women in Japan.

Taguchi continued their career at IBM, taking on roles such as Executive Global Mobility Partner, Strategy & Business Operations Executive for Global Technology Services, Chief of Staff to the Country General Manager of IBM Australia/New Zealand, and Asia Pacific Talent Leader. In their role as HR Director for Global Technology Services, they successfully led the spin-off project from IBM Japan, the largest ever spin-off in the Japan IT industry.

Most recently, Taguchi served as the Japan Head of Human Resources and a Member of the Board of Directors at Kyndryl, where they were responsible for the entire HR functions of Kyndryl Japan and its subsidiaries, leading a culture transformation project. Masako also played an active role in transforming HR policies to better suit Kyndryl. Currently, they hold the position of SVP of HR at Universal Studios Japan.

Masako Taguchi received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Consulting from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in the years 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree (BA) in International Law from Hitotsubashi University between 1999 and 2003. Additionally, they obtained a certification as an IBM Certified Executive from IBM in December 2020.
