Zakiyyah Griffin is an experienced educational professional currently serving as the Grade Level Lead, Middle School Dean, and 8th Grade History Teacher at Unity Preparatory Charter School of Brooklyn since August 2019. Previously, Zakiyyah held positions at The New York Foundling as a Youth and Child Care Specialist and at Democracy Prep Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher. Zakiyyah's early career included roles within the NYC Department of Education, Harlem Children's Zone, and various retail management positions. Zakiyyah holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pine Manor College, a Professional Certification in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is pursuing a Master of Education in dual Special Education and Early Childhood Education at Metropolitan College of New York.
