Alex Harris, MN/MHSc, PhD, is a leading expert in nursing practice and education, currently serving as Senior Director of Nursing Practice & Education at Unity Health Toronto since October 2022. With a significant academic presence as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto, Alex teaches core nursing courses and has contributed to various syllabi since 2019. In editorial roles, Alex is the Chair of the Editorial Advisory Committee for the Canadian Journal of Nursing Leadership and an Editorial Board Member for the Healthcare Management Forum. As the Principal of Alexandra Harris Consulting since 2011, Alex specializes in health workforce research, providing insights to prominent organizations including the Canadian Nurses Association and Health Canada. Previous positions include managerial and investigative roles at Trillium Health Partners and trusteeship at the Banting Research Foundation. Alex holds a PhD in Nursing Health Systems and advanced degrees in Nursing Administration and Health Administration from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Nursing Science from Queen's University.
