Susan Engle has a diverse range of work experiences in the healthcare field. Susan began their career in 1988 as a Manager/Clinical Nursing Director at Doctors Hospital Pinole, where they worked until 1998. From 1997 to 2004, Susan served as the Clinical Nursing Director at Doctors Medical Center - San Pablo. In 2005, they joined Napa Valley College as a Professor and later became the Associate Dean and Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program until 2014. Susan then worked as a Nursing Education Consultant at the Board Of Registered Nursing from 2014 to 2019. In 2020, they took on multiple roles at different organizations, including being a member of the Health Policy Committee at the Association of California Nurse Leaders and serving as the Leadership Succession Chair at Omicron Delta. Currently, Susan is an Adjunct Instructor and Assistant Professor at Unitek Learning, where they have been teaching since 2020.
Susan Engle obtained their Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership from Chamberlain University between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed their MSN in Nursing Administration at California State University-Dominguez Hills, with an end year of 2000. Furthermore, Susan earned their Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the same institution, with an end year of 1997. Lastly, they obtained their Associate Degree in Applied Science, specializing in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Middlesex College during the years 1979 to 1981.
