Marcia Turner has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Their most recent position was as the Vice President of Community Engagement and Major Gifts at the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties, starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they were the Director of Donor Engagement at the same organization, starting in July 2019. Before joining the United Way, Marcia worked at the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee, where they held the role of Donor Recognitions Manager and Campaign Assistant. Marcia also worked at Hodges University as the Dean of Students for 15 years from July 2002 to July 2017. Additionally, they gained experience as the Director of Corporate Sales at Chez-zam Entertainment, where they developed and implemented business plans, established new sales territories, and created marketing materials. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Meetings, Conventions, and Travel at Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Company. Marcia's early career includes positions such as Business Manager, Conference Center, and Student Activity Coordinator at the University of Connecticut.

Marcia Turner earned their Ed.D. degree in Education, Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University between 2004 and 2009. Marcia obtained an MA degree in Education: Higher Ed from the University of Connecticut from 1982 to 1984. Marcia also completed a BS degree in Business from SUNY Polytechnic Institute from 1978 to 1980, and an AS degree in Business from Farmingdale State College from 1975 to 1977. Marcia graduated from Deer Park High School in 1975.
