Peter Smith is a seasoned professional in clinical development with extensive experience in both early and late-stage drug development across multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, metabolic, and urology disciplines. Currently serving as Vice President of Product Development at United Therapeutics Corporation since December 2016, Peter Smith previously held the position of Senior Director in the same department. Prior to this role, Peter Smith spent over 14 years at GSK, culminating as Director of Clinical Development. Additional roles were held at Eli Lilly and Company, Glaxo Wellcome / CTSS, and ClinTrials Research, Inc. Peter Smith holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Zoology from North Carolina State University.
