David A. Wright

David A. Wright has extensive experience in various roles within the sports industry. David A. started their career in 2000 with Major League Soccer, where they held positions such as Manager of Fan Development, Director of Fan Development, and Senior Director of Partnership Marketing & Fan Development. In these roles, they were responsible for driving partnership growth and retention, managing marketing programs, and overseeing commercial partnerships.

In 2007, Wright became Vice President of Partnership Marketing, where they focused on driving growth and retention across existing commercial partnerships. David A. also oversaw partnership management for 40 commercial partners and three broadcast partners, with a budget responsibility of $7 million.

In 2011, they were promoted to Vice President and later Senior Vice President of Global Sponsorship. In these positions, they led the global sponsorship strategy, managed day-to-day operations, and provided leadership to a team of 20 staff members.

From 2016 to 2020, Wright worked at Minor League Baseball as the Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer. In this role, they led all marketing and commercial units, oversaw MiLB Enterprises LLC, and managed a board of owners and the Chief Financial Officer.

Since 2020, Wright has been working as the Chief Commercial Officer for the U.S. Soccer Federation. In this role, they oversee all commercial revenue and outward-facing business units, including marketing, corporate partnerships, media/content, consumer products, events, and analytics & digital products. David A. has been successful in securing strategic moves, such as retaining commercial rights and securing long-term partnerships.

David A. Wright holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. David A. also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Indiana University Bloomington.
