Betty Ruiz is a dedicated legal assistant at the UFW Foundation, providing support to the immigrant community in legal immigration matters since October 2023. In addition, Betty serves as an English at Work Help Desk Support Member at the National Immigration Forum, assisting participants with remote class onboarding and ongoing support. With experience as a humanities tutor at Paper, a substitute teacher in the Kern High School District, and an intern in various immigration and community service roles, Betty has developed a strong skill set in education, legal assistance, and community support. Academically, Betty holds a Master of Laws in Human Rights from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Bakersfield, alongside diverse educational experiences in political science and liberal arts.
