Izabella Zhu Mitchell has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Izabella Zhu began their career as a Macroeconomic Policy Researcher at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in 2001. After that, they worked at UNIDO as a Balanced Scorecard Project Member, and later joined Principal as a Public Policy Consultant. In 2005, they transitioned to the finance industry and worked as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. In 2007, they joined the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation as a Senior Financial Institutions Examiner. Their most recent role was at United Business Bank, where they served as Chief Risk Officer and Senior Vice President from 2013 to 2016, and later as Chief Risk Officer and Executive Vice President.
Izabella Zhu Mitchell has a Bachelor of Economics degree in International Economics from Peking University. Izabella Zhu also holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School. In 2023, they completed a program in Executive Leadership at Wharton Executive Education and obtained the ABA Wharton Executive Leadership Certificate. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Risk and Information Systems Control from ISACA in 2018, and in Fiduciary Investment Risk from Pepperdine University in 2012.
