Clifford Meros has over two decades of experience in law enforcement, currently serving as Sheriff’s Lieutenant at the Union County Sheriff's Office since May 2000, and previously holding positions as Sheriff’s Sergeant and Sheriff’s Officer. Meros served in the United States Army National Guard from 1997 to 2015, reaching the rank of Sergeant First Class, with deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2008-2009) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2004-2005). Prior military experience includes service in the US Army from 1994 to 1997 during Operation Joint Endeavor (IFOR). Meros holds a Master's degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University (2017-2020), a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Kean University (2001-2008), and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ (1997-2000).
