Maryann Oertel currently serves as the System Assistant Director of Pharmacy Strategic Sourcing and Drug Shortage Management at UNC Health, leading a team that focuses on improving the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy. With a strong background in pharmacy, Maryann has held various roles at UNC Medical Center, including Coordinator for Strategic Sourcing and Shortage Management, and Clinical Specialist in Drug Shortage Management, where management of drug shortages was a key responsibility. Additionally, Maryann managed the Drug Formulary and Drug Information Center at UNC Hospital and contributed to the development of the Medication Safety Program. Maryann began their career with a Pharmacy Practice Residency and Specialty Residency in Drug Information at Rush University Medical Center. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan.
