Sara Minelli is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental science and geomatics, currently serving as a Programme Officer for Monitoring and Assessment at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) since October 2008. In this role, Sara coordinates the acquisition and transfer of geo-spatial data to 196 countries, aiding in the assessment of degraded land. Previous positions include Programme Officer and Associate Expert, where Sara supported intergovernmental negotiations and developed indicator-based impact assessments. Prior to joining UNCCD, Sara worked as an international senior photo-interpreter at FAO and as a tutor for a Master's degree course in Geomatics. Sara holds degrees in Environmental Science and specialized certificates in desertification forecasting and sustainable environmental management.
