Kara Finnigan currently serves as Senior Vice President at The Spencer Foundation and as a Professor at the University of Michigan, both roles held since August 2022. Additionally, Kara Finnigan is the Editor In Chief of AERA Open, a peer-reviewed journal focused on advancing knowledge in education and learning. Previously, Kara Finnigan spent nearly two decades at the University of Rochester, progressing from Assistant Professor to Professor. Early career experience includes positions as a Research Analyst at SRI International and RPP International, as well as a Researcher at The George Lucas Educational Foundation. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College, with interim study at Stanford University.
