Baiyang Ren is a Principal Research Scientist at ULC Technologies since November 2016, specializing in the development of electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) inline-inspection tools, utilizing multi-physics finite element analysis (FEA) and experimental validation to enhance transmission power and signal-to-noise ratio in ultrasonic guided waves for uncleaned pipes. Previous experience includes roles as Sensor Scientist and Sensor Development Engineer, with a focus on guided wave techniques for various detection platforms and sensor evaluations for underground utilities. Baiyang Ren holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Science and Mechanics and a Master's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Penn State University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
