About the Opportunity

UJA is seeking a dynamic and innovative Associate Director, Brand and Federation Marketing to play a pivotal role in building a UJA brand to appeal to prospective donors, while enhancing existing donor’s connection to UJA. As a member of the Marketing Hub team, reporting to the VP of Marketing & Brand Strategy, this role will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of UJA enterprise initiatives, and leading the execution of strategic brand marketing initiatives to support and amplify our fundraising efforts and programming objectives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and measurement of UJA Federation enterprise initiatives (for example our AGM, annual reports, impact reports etc.) ensuring creative and innovative, well-thought out and brand aligned, impactful campaigns that are on-time and on-budget and deliver on the goals outlined for each initiative.
  • Support the development of a brand strategy designed to build a brand that appeals to prospective donors, while enhancing current donors’ connection to UJA.
  • Support the establishment of ongoing brand metric measurement and reporting.
  • Support the growth and measurement of UJA brand familiarity, affinity, and perception.
  • Lead the creation and management of branding campaigns and guidelines, ensuring consistency in brand identity and messaging across all platforms.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Operations and Digital Marketing teams to optimize marketing efforts and ensure alignment with overall brand strategy and coordinate with the Events team to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Direct and mentor the Design lead in the hub to champion UJA brand standards and guidelines across the organization. Act as a brand steward, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to our brand principles. Provide support and guidance to team members to maintain a cohesive and consistent brand identity.
  • Own and manage relationships with external agencies and vendors, ensuring that all marketing materials meet brand standards and campaign goals. Support RFP processes to find the right partners.
  • Support the strategy development and lead the execution and measurement of integrated marketing strategies that support UJA’s objectives, focusing on building and maintaining strong donor relationships and enhancing brand equity.
  • Analyze campaign results and market trends to discover insights and recommend adjustments to marketing strategies and practices.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a direct report and contribute to the recruitment and development of marketing team staff, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and efficient work environment.
  • Track budgets and ROI for every initiative and campaign, tracking to annual budgets assigned to brand and Federation work.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in brand management or marketing, with a proven track record in leading successful marketing campaigns.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work effectively with various internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams and individuals at all levels.

  • Experience in digital marketing, social media, and event marketing.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.

  • High level of creativity and innovation with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in using marketing tools and technologies, including CRM and analytics software.

  • Commitment to UJA’s mission and values, with knowledge of the non-profit sector and the Toronto Jewish community as an asset.

  • This is a full-time, permanent position.  At UJA we support a flexible work schedule, and all of our employees engage in hybrid work. Engagement and connection are key to supporting the best employee experience and we want to ensure that this puts balance and well-being at the forefront of our approach to ways of working. In addition to a rich time off policy, UJA’s offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and we support early office closures to observe the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
