Amit Chowdhury is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in mountaineering, adventure travel, and consultancy. Presently serving as an Executive Board Member at the UIAA since October 2017, Amit leads initiatives to promote safe and ethical practices in climbing and mountaineering globally. As President of the Safety Commission, Amit oversees the development and revision of international standards for mountaineering gear. Previous roles include Vice President at Reccy, startup leadership at Yatra.com (Adventure Nation), and co-founding iZone Education. Amit's military background includes serving as a Wing Commander in the Indian Air Force, where responsibilities included managing large teams and contributing to major software projects. Educational qualifications include an AFP in General Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and an MAeSI in Aerospace Engineering.
