Sub-saharan Africa Research Analyst (contractor, Ascendant Program Services) at U.S. Trade and Development Agency

Brittany Hughes is an experienced research analyst specializing in Sub-Saharan Africa, currently utilizing expertise at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency since May 2021. Previously, Brittany worked as a researcher focusing on Africa with Eurasia Group from July 2019 to May 2021, and as a compliance risk and diligence intern at Kroll for the first half of 2019. An intern at the United States Air Force in International Affairs specifically for Africa in mid-2018, Brittany also gained early experience as a Nigeria Desk intern at the U.S. Department of State in the summer of 2016. Academically, Brittany holds a Master of Arts in International Economics and African Studies from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, earned in 2019, and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service with a focus on International Politics from Georgetown University, completed in 2017.
