Alexander Darst has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Alexander started their career at USS CHOSIN (CG 65) as an Electronic Warfare Officer, where they oversaw the maintenance and upgrades of electronic systems and was responsible for the safe navigation of the ship. Alexander then joined Nuclear Power School - Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) as a Navy Nuclear Propulsion Operations Trainee, gaining expertise in nuclear propulsion systems.
Next, they served as a Reactor Propulsion Division Officer at USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76), ensuring the availability and safe operation of the ship's nuclear reactors and associated equipment. Alexander then transitioned to North American Aerospace Defense Command as the Missile and Space Domain Deputy Chief, collecting and analyzing real-time information from space and ground systems to provide early warning and threat indication to North America.
After that, they worked at the Office of Naval Research as a Science and Technology Liaison (Navy Reserve), where they served as a liaison between the Navy and the research community. Alexander then joined U.S. Space Command as a Staff Officer and Chief of Operations, contributing to the development of requirements and capabilities for space intelligence.
Currently, they are working at Northrop Grumman as a System Engineer, providing test, integration, and evaluation services for the Missile Defense Agency. Alexander also worked at the same company as a Systems Engineer, providing systems engineering support for Satellite Ground Communication Networks for the National Reconnaissance Office.

Alexander Darst earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating in 2011. In 2019, they completed a program in Military Space Systems Operations, earning a certificate in Space 200 from the National Space Security Institute. In 2018, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA. Currently, Alexander is pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering Management with a focus on Engineering/Industrial Management at Old Dominion University. Alexander is expected to graduate in 2023.
