Fariha Kamal has extensive work experience in the field of economics and research. Fariha currently holds the position of Senior International Economist at the Council of Economic Advisers in The White House, starting in 2023. Prior to this role, they held various positions at the U.S. Census Bureau, including Principal Research Economist, Senior Research Economist, and Research Economist, starting in 2011. Fariha also worked as an Actuarial Benefit Consultant at Fidelity Investments from 2001 to 2006.
Fariha Kamal earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from Mount Holyoke College in 2001. Fariha then went on to obtain their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Clark University in 2006. Fariha completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics from Syracuse University in 2011.
