Muriel Bouakaz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Muriel is currently the Creator & Owner of Studio Ithaka, a role they have held since January 2022. In February 2023, Muriel will start working as the Head of People and Organizational Development at TX Group AG. Prior to this, they were a Senior Trainer in Learning & Development at TX Group AG from July 2022 to March 2023. Muriel has also worked as a Teacher & Creator at Future of Work Galaxy since January 2022. In addition, they served as a Dozentin im MAS Arbeit 4.0 at Fernfachhochschule Schweiz (FFHS) starting in January 2021. Before that, Muriel held various roles at Witzig The Office Company, including Head of Human Development and innovative culture design, Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung from August 2020 to December 2021, and Research & Design New Work Akademy from October 2017 to December 2021. Muriel also gained experience as a Design Thinking Project Team member at BMW Group from September 2017 to August 2018, and as a Business Analyst in Digital & Strategy at BearingPoint from September 2016 to July 2017. Muriel started their career in the banking industry, working as an Assistant Relationship Manager in External Asset Management (EAM) at Credit Suisse from February 2013 to August 2016. Muriel also completed the Junior Banking Program at Credit Suisse from August 2011 to January 2013. Prior to their banking career, Muriel was a professional football player at FC Zürich from July 2005 to January 2013. Additionally, they briefly worked as the Head of Acquisition Romandie at BETTERHOMES AG from March 2011 to July 2011.
Muriel Bouakaz completed their education as follows:
- From 2017 to 2019, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Business Innovation at the University of St.Gallen.
- In 2019, they participated in an exchange semester at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
- In 2017 and 2018, they attended Stanford University for a program called Design Thinking @HSG in collaboration with Prof. Larry Leifer, following Stanford's ME310 Programme, specializing in Design Thinking.
- Muriel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Wirtschaftswissenschaften from the University of St.Gallen from 2013 to 2017.
- In 2015 and 2016, they participated in an exchange program at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
- In 2010 and 2011, they studied Economie et Gestion at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne.
- Muriel completed their high school education at Kunst- und Sportgymnasium, achieving Eidgenössische Matura with a focus on the Neusprachliches Profil.
Additionally, in August 2020, they obtained certification in The Science of Well-Being from Coursera.
