Senior Frontend Engineer at Twingate

Matt DeMichele has extensive work experience in software development and engineering. Matt currently holds the role of Senior Frontend Engineer at Twingate, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Pearson for several years in various positions.

At Pearson, Matt started as an Associate Software Developer in July 2012. Matt enhanced an internal ticketing system using the ASP.NET Framework and created admin tools using ASP.NET and Telerik.

Matt then advanced to the position of Software Developer in March 2014, where they continued their software development work.

In May 2016, Matt was promoted to Senior Software Developer. During this time, they worked on a wide range of projects and contributed to the success of the team.

In January 2021, Matt took on the role of Senior Developer & Site Reliability Engineer at Pearson. Here, they managed a team of 3 direct reports and led the development of a microfrontend architecture solution using AppSync and GraphQL in AWS. Matt also implemented a custom Gitlab pipeline that significantly reduced build times and increased developer productivity. Additionally, Matt monitored and enhanced a product with millions of unique users and successfully managed a multi-year project to convert a legacy ASP.NET product to a modern tech stack. Matt collaborated with various teams, including UX, Backend, and DevOps roles, to ensure successful project outcomes.

From 2008 to 2012, Matt DeMichele attended Ramapo College of New Jersey, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
