John Bartley has extensive experience in human resources and leadership roles. John is currently serving as the Director of People and HR Services at Turning the Corner, LLC since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Deputy Director, Division of Human Resources at the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration from September 2019 to April 2022, where they oversaw various HR functions and initiatives, including equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Before that, John worked at the Colorado Governor's Office of Information Technology. John served as the Interim Chief People Officer from May 2019 to July 2019 and as a Senior HR Business Partner from February 2018 to May 2019. In these roles, they provided strategic HR support and contributed to cross-functional process improvement projects.
Earlier in their career, John worked at Fred Hutch, where they held multiple positions, including HR Director, Employment from September 2012 to June 2016. John led various projects, including the implementation of a document management system and process improvement initiatives. John also managed a team and oversaw HR functional areas such as employee services, leave administration, training, and immigration.
Prior to their time at Fred Hutch, John worked at the ArtsFund as a Campaign Coordinator from October 1999 to July 2001. In this role, they supervised executive volunteers and managed data entry and retrieval for fundraising campaigns.
Throughout their career, John Bartley has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record of successfully managing HR functions and driving organizational initiatives.
John Bartley attended Oberlin College from 1994 to 1998 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Strategic HR Business Partner (sHRBP) from the Human Capital Institute (HCI) in October 2017.
