Erko Risthein has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Erko started their career as a Software Developer at Freelancer.com in 2006 and later worked as a Web Developer at Webgate in 2008. In 2011, Erko worked in the Finance Department at Swedbank, and in 2012, they briefly worked in the License Compliance division at Microsoft.

Moving forward, Erko joined Nortal in 2013 as a Java Developer on the Telecom team, primarily focusing on developing the self-service portal for Telia customers. Their technical skills included Java EE, Spring Framework, Liferay, Git, JPA, Hibernate, Oracle, JUnit, SOAP, XML, REST, and more.

In 2015, Erko joined Wise as a Product Engineer, where they led the Fixed Rate product and contributed to increasing the Net Promoter Score (NPS) to 85.

In 2017, Erko co-founded Producement and held the role of CTO/CFO until August 2022. Erko was responsible for the technical and financial aspects of the company.

In October 2016, Erko joined Tuleva and held the position of CTO/CPO and a member of the Management Board. Erko played a significant role in Tuleva's growth, achieving a 50% increase in Assets Under Management (AUM) year-over-year.

Erko Risthein began their education at Tallinna Reaalkool from 2007 to 2010, where they focused on Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics. Erko then attended the Stockholm School of Economics from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics and Finance with SSE Riga. In 2013, Erko enrolled in TalTech - Tallinn University of Technology and studied Computer Science, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree by 2015. Erko subsequently pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Software Engineering at the University of Tartu from 2015 to 2017, although they did not complete their degree.

Erko Risthein also obtained additional certifications to enhance their skills. In 2014, they became a Certified Associate, Java SE Programmer I, and later that same year, they achieved the Certified Professional, Java SE Programmer II certification from Oracle. Furthermore, they participated in the Startup School at Y Combinator in 2018, though the specific month of completion is unknown.
