Spencer Brightman, PhD, has a diverse work experience in the field of immunology. Starting in 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant in the Precision Vaccines Program at Boston Children's Hospital, where they supported studies on vaccine adjuvants and optimization of vaccine responses. In 2017, they pursued a PhD at the University of California San Diego, focusing on T cell responses to tumor-specific neoantigens in mouse models and human cancer patients. During their PhD, they also worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology, where they completed and published their thesis work on neoantigen-specific CD4+ T cells in mouse tumor models and human cancers. Currently, they are working as a Scientist in Immunology at Trutino Biosciences, starting from 2023.
Spencer Brightman, PhD, completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences from UC San Diego, where they studied from 2017 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology from Clark University, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their degrees, they also obtained certification in "Medicinal Chemistry: The Molecular Basis of Drug Discovery" from Davidson College in May 2017.
