Birgit Anderegg, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the biotech, life sciences, medical devices, biomarker, and pharmaceutical industries. Birgit began their career in 1998 as a Visiting Scientist/Postdoc at the UCSF Cancer Center, where they conducted research in cancer gene therapy. In 2000, they became a Principal Investigator at the University at Munich, Dept. of Pathology. Birgit then moved to Arcturus Inc. in 2002, where they worked as a Field Applications Specialist. In 2004, they joined Merz Pharmaceuticals as a Medical Marketing Manager and Director of Business Development. In 2012, they founded and became CEO of ABC & D - Anderegg Business Consulting & Development. Birgit also worked as an Expert for the Science4Life Venture Cup in 2014, an Expert Reviewer for the European Commission in 2014, and an Expert Reviewer for ACCIÓ/Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) in 2015. In 2014, they became a TrustedPeer Expert in Business Development and Out-Licensing for Life Sciences Companies and a Shareholder of Trifermed GmbH.

Birgit Anderegg, Ph.D. received their Ph.D. from the University Hospital at Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in 1996, where they studied Genetherapy and Molecular Biology. Birgit also obtained a Master of Sciences from the University of Hamburg between 1986 and 1991, majoring in zoology/immunology, with minors in microbiology & genetics and human biology. Birgit has also obtained additional certifications, such as a PRINCE2 Foundation from APMG in 2013, Negotiation Dynamics from INSEAD in 2011, and a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner from APM Group Ltd. in 2013.
