Katherine Atwater is a Development Engineer at TRUMPF North America since March 2022, specializing in high-power laser technologies focused on packaging, plating, and solder. Prior experience includes a role as a Supplier Quality Engineer at Northrop Grumman from July 2015 to April 2022, where responsibilities encompassed conducting source inspections and managing supplier quality through audits and corrective actions. Katherine also served as a Materials and Process Engineer, specializing in failure analysis of metals for electronic systems. Earlier positions included internships and research roles in outreach programs for middle school girls, materials characterization, and solid oxide fuel cells, along with undergraduate research in the Aerospace Department and at the International Materials Institute. Katherine holds a Master of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the University of Maryland.
