Jonathan Cantor serves as the Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer at Truist since May 2020. In addition to this role, Jonathan is an Advisory Board Member for the Training Advisory Board at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) since December 2020. Prior professional experiences include board membership at WAEPA from July 2017 to August 2021 and active participation on the board of the American Society of Access Professionals from October 2015 to November 2020. Jonathan held the position of Deputy Chief Privacy Officer at the US Department of Homeland Security from July 2012 to May 2020, where duties included acting as Chief Privacy Officer and overseeing a significant FOIA program. Earlier roles encompassed Chief Privacy Officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce and various positions at the Social Security Administration, culminating in the Executive Director of the Office of Privacy & Disclosure. Jonathan holds a JD from The George Washington University Law School and a BA in Political Science and History from Duke University.
