Ryan Barley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ryan started their career as a Science News Intern at Laurin Publishing Co in 2012. Later that year, they interned at the American Institute of Physics, where they conducted historical research and curated content for an online exhibit on Ernest Rutherford. Ryan also presented a poster based on this research at a conference.

In 2015, Ryan joined CMP Group as a Tester and later became a Webmaster. In 2017, they worked as an HTML5 Developer on a contract basis for Regal Beloit Corporation.

Ryan's software development career began in 2018 when they became an Apprentice Software Developer at Gaslight. Ryan then joined 84.51° as a Software Engineer, working until 2021.

Currently, Ryan is working at Thoughtworks as a Software Developer Consultant and will be transitioning to Whitespace in 2023 as a Software Developer.

Ryan Barley has a diverse educational background with degrees and certifications in various fields. Ryan obtained their Master's degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they attended from 2020 to 2025.

Prior to their master's program, Ryan attended the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts from 2006 to 2012. During their time there, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Arts in English. Ryan'sstudies also included a minor in Mathematics and a concentration in journalism.

Before their college education, Ryan completed their high school studies at Westfield High School in 2006, receiving a diploma with a focus on College Prep.

In addition to their formal education, Ryan has obtained several certifications. Ryan completed the Java Programming and Software Engineering Fundamentals Specialization from Coursera in April 2020. In 2015, they received a certification in Regression Models, and in 2014, they obtained certifications in Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, Reproducible Research, and The Data Scientist's Toolbox, all from Coursera Verified Certificates.
