Mariagrazia Bellini

Associate Research Scientist at Tropic Biosciences

Mariagrazia Bellini has a diverse work experience in the field of molecular genetics and laboratory research. Mariagrazia is currently working as a Senior Laboratory Technician at Tropic since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Eurofins Genoma Group as a Biologist from 2019 to 2022, where they applied Next Generation Sequencing technology for molecular diagnosis of genetic diseases.

In 2018, Mariagrazia worked as a Research Fellow at the Molecular Genetics of Neurodevelopmental Disorders Laboratory, where they developed Next Generation Sequencing tools for the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders. Mariagrazia focused on studying candidate genes and identifying common functional networks involved in diseases such as Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and epilepsy.

Before that, they worked as a Research Fellow at CRAL Azienda Ospedaliera di Padova- Molecular Genetics of Neurodevelopmental Disorders Laboratory from 2018 to 2018. In this role, they applied Next Generation Sequencing technology for the molecular genetics diagnosis of Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorders in early neurodevelopment.

Mariagrazia also has experience outside of the field of molecular genetics. Mariagrazia worked as a Runner/Cocktail Waitress at Cristopher's Grill Restaurant from 2016 to 2017, serving customers and ensuring their satisfaction. Additionally, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at the University of Bari from 2015 to 2016, where they performed various biomolecular techniques for genomic studies.

Overall, Mariagrazia Bellini's work experience showcases their expertise in Next Generation Sequencing technology, molecular genetics, and laboratory research.

Mariagrazia Bellini completed their education in a chronological order. Mariagrazia started their educational journey by pursuing a high school degree in Maturità scientifica at Liceo Scientifico "Marie Curie", Monopoli (Italy) from 2005 to 2010. Following that, they attended Università degli Studi di Bari from 2010 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biological Science. Mariagrazia continued their studies at the same university, completing a Master of Science (MSc) in Cellular and Molecular Biology L-6 from 2013 to 2016. Finally, in 2016, they obtained an "Abilitazione alla libera Professione di Biologo" which signifies their successful completion of the State Examination at Università degli Studi di Bari.
