Dain Sundstrom is an experienced technology professional with a diverse range of roles and experiences. Dain currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Starburst Data since September 2019. Prior to that, they founded the Trino Software Foundation in January 2019.

Before their current positions, Dain worked as a Software Engineer at Facebook from April 2012 to September 2018. Dain also worked as an Architect at Proofpoint from September 2010 to April 2012 and as a Senior Architect at Ning from February 2009 to August 2010.

Dain has a strong background in open-source software development and was a committer on the Apache Geronimo project at the Apache Software Foundation from August 2003 to February 2009. Dain also served as the Chief Architect of IBM Gluecode at IBM from May 2005 to May 2007 and as the Chief Architect at Gluecode Software from June 2004 to May 2005.

Additionally, Dain was a Partner at Core Developers Network LLC from June 2003 to June 2004 and served as the CMP 2.0 Lead for The JBoss Project from June 2001 to June 2003, where they contributed to the development of the JBoss application server.

Dain Sundstrom obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota from 1991 to 1996.
