Dr. Michael Roemer currently serves as the Board Treasurer for the European Teacher Education Network since April 2022 and has been the Director of Global Education at Trinity Valley School since July 2011, where responsibilities include fostering social and educational exchanges across cultures. Previously, Dr. Roemer was an Executive Board Member and Nagaoka Committee Chair for Fort Worth Sister Cities International from December 2012 to December 2018. Academic experience includes a position as Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Ball State University, where courses on Japanese Religions and East Asian Buddhisms were taught, as well as lecturing at Cornell College. Dr. Roemer began teaching Japanese at Saint Mary's Hall and also worked as a Coordinator for International Relations within the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program in Kumamoto City Hall. Educational credentials include a PhD in Sociology and an MA in Asian Cultures and Languages from The University of Texas at Austin, along with a Bachelor's degree in Asian Studies/Japanese from Connecticut College.
