John Bacus is an accomplished design and product management professional with extensive experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of UX Design at Trimble Inc. since August 2023, Bacus has also held various roles at Trimble, including Vice President of Product Management and Director of Product Management, where responsibilities encompassed product design, strategy, and the development of integrated software solutions. Additionally, Bacus is a Senior Instructor and interim director of the Creative Technology and Design Program at the University of Colorado Boulder, contributing to academia since January 2017. Previous experience includes key roles at Google Inc. and @Last Software, where Bacus played a pivotal role in the development of SketchUp and its related products. Bacus holds multiple degrees in architecture from The Cooper Union and Rice University.
