James Hillier is an experienced finance and risk management professional currently serving as Associate Vice President of Risk Management at Trez Capital since May 2016, with expertise in enterprise risk management in real estate finance. Previously, James held roles such as Senior Associate in Credit Risk & Underwriting and Fund Accountant. Additionally, James is part of the Economic Leadership Team for the District of Squamish, contributing to municipal strategies for economic, environmental, and social development. Prior experience includes serving as Financial Agent for the Green Party of Canada during the 2015 federal election, working as an Information Analyst for the BC Financial Institutions Commission, and as a Senior Accountant at DMCL Chartered Accountants. James started a career as a stunt performer and later worked as a Derivatives Analyst at OTC Valuations. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's of Commerce with Honours in Finance from The University of British Columbia, CFA designation from the CFA Institute, and CPA designation from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
