Varun Sharma has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Varun started their career as a Software Engineer at Infosys Technologies Ltd in 2005 and worked there until 2007. Following this, they served as a Web Developer and Consultant at USC Marshall School of Business, where they played a crucial role in developing the web presence of Dr. Tellis and The Center for Global Innovation. In 2008, Varun joined Heavy Iron Studios (THQ) as a Game Programmer for a brief period of time. Later that year, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Southern California.

Varun's extensive experience in the gaming industry began in 2009 when they joined Treyarch. Varun started as an Associate Software Engineer and gradually progressed to roles such as Senior Software Engineer, Online Lead Engineer, and Senior Lead Engineer. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director, Online Engineering at Treyarch, a role that they started in October 2022.

Varun Sharma attended The Doon School from 1994 to 2001, where they completed their ISC degree in Sciences. Afterward, from 2001 to 2005, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Fr. CRCE, Mumbai University. Subsequently, Varun joined the University of Southern California from 2007 to 2009, specializing in Game Development as part of their Computer Science degree. In 2013, they enrolled in the Technical Management Program at UCLA for Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management.
