Angus Bencke has over 15 years of experience in the gaming and visual effects industry. Angus is currently a Principal Artist at Treyarch, where they create and maintains elements for the lighting of game environments and cinematics. Angus also mentors other artists and stays up-to-date with industry techniques. Prior to this role, Angus worked as an Art Specialist at Three Point Creative, specializing in lighting, cinematics, and color grading for games and interactive VR experiences. Angus founded the company and led a team of cutting-edge artists. Angus also worked as a Lighting Specialist at Activision and a Senior Lighting Artist at Treyarch, where they contributed to the Call of Duty franchise and mentored junior artists. Before that, they gained experience as a Senior Lighting Artist at Dr. D Studios, Lead Lighting Artist at Team Bondi, Sr Lighting Artist at Animal Logic, and Lighting Arist at Photon VFX and George P Johnson. Their expertise spans various areas of lighting and visual effects, demonstrating their versatility and commitment to artistic and technical excellence.
Angus Bencke started their education journey in 1998 at HIT Newcastle, where they pursued Fine Arts and obtained a Cert 3. Angus then went on to enroll at the National Art School in 2001, studying Sculpture and earning a degree in Fine Arts in 2002. In 2002, Angus attended JMC Academy, where they pursued Digital Media and completed a Cert. 4 in 2003. Lastly, Angus studied Design Science at the University of Sydney from 2003 to 2004.
