Priscilla Tang has worked in a variety of roles since 2008. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Tutor at the City Education Centre, tutoring Gr. 11 biology, and Gr. 1-10 mathematics, English, and general science. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, where they elucidated and validated protein interactors of candidate yeast ABC transporters through application of high-throughput split ubiquitin membrane yeast two hybrid (ubMYTH). From 2012 to 2016, they were a Graduate Student Candidate and Research Institute Student at The Hospital for Sick Children, where they screened for differentially expressed genes affected by the Lafora disease in murine brain tissue and performed HPLC-MS/MS analysis of biochemical compounds in urine. From 2016 to 2017, they were an Automation Scientist Intern at Northern Biologics, where they automated experimental protocols for use on the TECAN liquid handling robot to facilitate medium- to high-throughput processing. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Research Technician and Lab Technician at the University of Toronto, where they developed, optimized, and implemented a semi- to fully automated high-throughput pipeline for Mammalian Membrane Two-Hybrid (MaMTH) screening of the human ORFeome collection against proteins of interest to elucidate novel protein-protein interactions and conducted bioinformatics analysis of next-generation sequencing data. Since 2019, they have been a Senior Research Associate at Treventis Corporation.
Priscilla Tang obtained their Honours Bachelor of Science (H.B.Sc.) from the University of Toronto - Innis College in 2012, majoring in Molecular Genetics. Priscilla then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.) at the University of Toronto, specializing in Developmental Biology, which they completed in 2016. Additionally, they hold certifications in Data Science, TCPS2: CORE, and Teaching Fundamentals, all from the University of Toronto.
