Taras Rybak

Senior Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry at Treeline Biosciences

Taras Rybak has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Taras is currently working as a Senior Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at Treeline Biosciences since November 2021.

Prior to this, they worked at Paraza Pharma Inc. for five years from 2016 to 2021. During their time there, they held multiple roles, including Senior Scientist and Scientist. Taras contributed to the synthesis of potential clinical drug candidates for the treatment of various diseases. Taras actively participated in developing novel bioactive small molecules using structure-based drug design and fragment-based drug discovery. Taras also analyzed potency, selectivity, DMPK, and physicochemical properties of tested compounds.

Before joining Paraza Pharma Inc., Taras worked as a Research Assistant at NeurAxon Inc. for a short period in 2009. Taras also worked at NeurAxon Inc. as a Research Assistant in 2008, where they synthesized novel compounds for biological testing.

Taras also has experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo, where they developed an electrochemical method for assaying alkaline phosphatase and tested phenyl-based substrates of ALP for electrochemical and spectrophotometric detection. Taras also determined enzyme kinetics under specific conditions.

Additionally, they worked as an Analytical Assistant at INCO in 2006, where they prepared and analyzed various processing samples using analytical techniques and operated inductively coupled plasma, Leco, and X-Ray Fluorescence instruments for elemental and chemical analysis.

In 2006, Taras had another research assistant position at the University of Waterloo, where they assisted in improving microplasma devices and analyzed them using a UV/Visible light spectrometer.

Overall, Taras Rybak has significant experience in medicinal chemistry, synthesis of potential drug candidates, and research in various scientific domains.

Taras Rybak has an extensive education history in the field of Chemistry. Taras began their academic journey in 2004 at the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Chemistry as part of the Co-operative Program. Rybak's studies at this institution spanned a period of six years, as they completed their undergraduate program in 2010.

Building upon their foundation at the University of Waterloo, Rybak went on to further their knowledge and expertise at the University of Alberta. From 2010 to 2016, they dedicated their time to pursuing a doctoral degree in Chemistry. During this period, Rybak immersed himself in advanced research and academic studies.

In summary, Taras Rybak completed their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the University of Waterloo in 2010 and subsequently obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Alberta in 2016. Their educational background showcases a strong focus and dedication to the field of Chemistry.
