Gaël Peng

CTO & co-founder at TreaTech

Gaël Peng has a diverse work experience. Gaël started their career at Empa in 2011 as a Research Assistant in Automotive catalysis. From there, they moved on to Paul Scherrer Institut in 2011 as a PhD Student, where they worked until 2015. Gaël then co-founded TreaTech in 2016, where they currently hold the role of CTO & co-founder. At TreaTech, they are responsible for developing a ground-breaking treatment technology for wastewater treatment and recycling valuable by-products.

Gaël Peng completed their education in a chronological order. Gaël started their academic journey in 2005 at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry & Chemical Engineering in 2008. Gaël then pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Chemical & Biochemical Engineering at EPFL from 2008 to 2010. Later, from 2011 to 2015, they attended Paul Scherrer Institute / École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.

In addition to their formal education, Gaël Peng acquired certifications in language proficiency. In November 2015, they obtained an advanced level of English (estimated) through certification from Duolingo. In the same year, they also achieved an advanced level of Spanish (estimated) from Duolingo, earning the certification.
