Laura Lammers is the founder and CEO of Travertine, a company that specializes in carbon sequestration. Prior to their current position, Laura worked as a Senior Staff Geologist at Geosyntec Consultants from September 2013 to May 2014. In this role, Laura was responsible for investigating the fate of carbon dioxide during geologic carbon sequestration using experiments and reactive transport modeling. Laura then worked as a Faculty Scientist at Berkeley Lab from July 2014 to June 2022. In this role, Laura used experimental and computational techniques to probe the molecular mechanisms controlling interfacial properties and processes relevant to carbon sequestration, mineral growth kinetics, and tracer uptake in minerals. Experimental calcite precipitation was used to determine the relationship between growth rate, surface structure, and calcium isotope fractionation. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to predict physiochemical properties of the CO2-water interface at high temperatures and pressures. Laura is currently an assistant professor at UC Berkeley.
Some individuals on their team include Roxanna Delima - Senior Electrochemical Engineer, Ben Kronholm - Senior Process Engineer, and Owen Cadwalader - COO.
