Mary Pemberton is a seasoned freelance writer and editor with extensive experience in journalism. Currently serving as a writer for Travel Weekly's Alaska e-newsletter since January 2016, Mary contributes to monthly editions featuring news and stories about Alaska. Prior to this, Mary worked as a reporter for the Associated Press from 1988 to June 2013, focusing on breaking news in Alaska and Hawaii while shaping the daily news agenda for both states. Mary holds dual M.A. degrees in print journalism and theology from Boston University College of Communication and Harvard Divinity School, earned between 1983 and 1988.
