Carter Nguyen, EIT, has a diverse work experience in the field of civil engineering. Carter started their career at TranSystems in 2021 as a Civil Engineer 1, where they gained hands-on experience in designing, planning, and managing highway projects. Carter'sexpertise includes geometric development, grading, alternative development, utility engineering, impact/risk, and agency coordination.
Prior to that, Carter worked at AYCE, Inc. as a Civil Engineer from May 2020 to December 2020.
Carter also gained valuable experience during their time at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. As part of their senior project with CalTrans District 8, Carter worked on designing the proposed Campus Parkway Interchange on I-215 in the City of San Bernardino. Carter utilized MicroStation Inroad to design an interchange, bridges, slopes, and ramp connections in accordance with Caltrans HDM. Additionally, they were responsible for incorporating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) into the project for enhanced visualization and communication effectiveness.
Carter also worked on a freeway simulation project, specifically focused on Freeway I-215. Carter utilized VISSIM/Synchro 10 to build and calibrate a microsimulation model of a freeway segment/corridor. Carter also evaluated various alternatives for improvements that could be used for the project.
Overall, Carter Nguyen has gained significant experience in various areas of civil engineering, particularly in highway and roadway design, transportation planning, and project management.
