József Péter Martin PhD has a diverse work experience. József Péter served as the Executive Director at Transparency International Hungary from 2013 to present. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Lecturer at Corvinus University of Budapest since 2015, teaching anti-corruption studies and economics. József Péter also had a secondment as the Director of Research at Transparency International UK from February 2019 to August 2019. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Consultant and Analyst in media and EU-affairs from 2010 to 2013, with clients including the European Commission and the National Bank of Hungary. József Péter also held editorial positions at Sanoma Budapest, including Editor-in-chief and Deputy editor-in-chief of a Hungarian business weekly. Starting their career, they worked as a Journalist and Editor in various outlets in the Hungarian business press from 1995 to 2001.
József Péter Martin earned their PhD in Social Sciences (Sociology, Economics, Political Science, International relations) from Corvinus University of Budapest. József Péter completed this degree between the years 2010 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained their MA in Economics (with focus on Sociology, International Relations) from the same university, studying from 1990 to 1995. Additionally, they spent a semester as an Erasmus student at the University of Groningen in 1998. In 1993, they were a Tempus student at KU Leuven.
