Vice President of Philanthropy at Transitions LifeCare

Christine Casey has extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising and development. Christine currently serves as the Vice President of Philanthropy for Transitions LifeCare, where they implement fundraising strategies to achieve philanthropic goals for various programs. Prior to this, they were the Director of Philanthropy at Transitions LifeCare, managing the annual unrestricted campaign and other fundraising initiatives.

Before joining Transitions LifeCare, Christine worked at the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina, where they held positions as the Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations and Director of Major Gifts. In these roles, they were responsible for managing annual giving programs, cultivating major gift prospects, and securing foundation grants. Christine also oversaw the chapter's direct mail program and solicited sponsorships for signature events.

Christine's experience also includes working as a Nonprofit Fundraising Consultant and Certified Life Coach at Nonprofit Support Solutions, providing fundraising training and coaching services to nonprofit professionals. Christine has also served as the Director of Financial Development at the American Red Cross, where they managed fundraising programs and taught disaster fundraising courses.

Additionally, Christine has worked at Duke University Medical Center as a Major Gifts Officer, Washington National Cathedral as an Annual Leadership Gifts Officer/ Director of Annual Giving, and American University as the Director of Annual Giving for the Washington College of Law. Christine has also held fundraising roles at Averett University and Randolph-Macon Academy.

Throughout their career, Christine has demonstrated their ability to cultivate relationships, meet fundraising goals, and implement effective fundraising strategies. Christine is skilled in areas such as direct mail campaigns, major gift solicitation, database management, and board development.

Christine Casey has a diverse education history. Christine first obtained their high school diploma in General Studies from James Wood High School in 1988. Christine then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Mary Washington from 1988 to 1992.

Seeking further education, Christine Casey obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Averett University, specializing in Business, from 1995 to 1997.

Continuing their education in nonprofit management, Casey obtained a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University in 2006 and 2007. Christine further enhanced their skills in this field by completing the Raiser's Edge Fundamentals Certification program at Blackbaud University from 2016 to 2018.

Casey's dedication to professional growth is evident in their attainment of various certifications. Christine became a Certified Fundraising Professional through CFRE International in June 2012. Additionally, they received the CFRE designation in 2012, becoming a Certified Fundraising Executive. Christine also completed the Coach Training Alliance's Life/Mentor/Career Coach Training Program, earning their CTA Certified Coach certification in November 2009.

In terms of advanced degrees, Christine Casey pursued a Master's degree in Gerontology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2019 to 2020.
