Marek S. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Marek is currently working at Ascertain as an ML and Cloud specialist since March 2022. Prior to that, Marek S. was an Operating Partner at Aegis Ventures starting from November 2021.

In 2016, Marek S. founded Transformative, a venture capital-backed startup focused on developing an AI algorithm to predict cardiac arrest. Marek successfully led five rounds of venture capital funding, raising $3 million, and won the $1 million Wellcome Trust Innovator Award.

From 2016 to 2017, Marek S. served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Entrepreneur First. During this time, they provided expertise and support to start-up companies.

Before becoming an entrepreneur, Marek S. worked at CERN as a Researcher from October 2012 to September 2016. Marek was responsible for reviewing and supporting analyses in the LHCb Electroweak Working Group, as well as serving as the Working Group Reviewer for a forward-backward asymmetry measurement. Marek S. also served as the Monte Carlo Simulation Liaison, overseeing the production of key Monte Carlo simulations and ensuring a smooth transition to a new Monte Carlo generator.

Marek S. also worked as a Supervisor at the University of Cambridge from January 2013 to April 2016, providing guidance to students. Additionally, they were a Marie Curie Fellow at Lund University for a brief period in 2014.

Overall, Marek S. has a strong background in research, entrepreneurship, and venture capital, with extensive experience in AI, cloud computing, and Monte Carlo simulations.

Marek S. began their education in the field of Physics at the University of Edinburgh, where they pursued a BSc degree from 2008 to 2012. During this time, Marek also spent a year studying Physics at the University of Washington from 2010 to 2011. After completing their undergraduate studies, Marek went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in High Energy Physics at the University of Cambridge from 2012 to 2016.
