Rick Barber

Chief Corporate Systems Officer at Trajan Scientific and Medical

Rick Barber has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rick has held various roles in different companies, showcasing their expertise in corporate systems, new product introduction, and chemistry platforms.

Starting in 1998, Rick worked as a Research Assistant at the Xerox Research Centre of Canada. Rick then moved on to NOVA Chemicals - Research & Technology in 1999, where they served as a Research Assistant. In 2000, they joined CSIRO - Manufacturing and Infrastructure Technology as a Research Technician.

In 2005, Rick joined MiniFAB (Aust) Pty Ltd as a Project Manager, specializing in microtechnology, medical devices, and microfluidics. Rick successfully led project teams in the development and commercialization of products incorporating micro-nanotechnology processes.

From 2012 to 2014, Rick worked as a Senior Project Manager at Grey Innovation Group Pty Ltd. Rick managed and delivered projects in the fields of medical devices, wireless sensor systems, environmental monitoring, smart energy, and medical diagnostics.

In 2014, Rick joined Trajan Scientific and Medical, where they held multiple roles. Rick started as the General Manager - Chemistry Platforms from July 2014 to June 2016. Following that, they took on the role of General Manager - New Product Introduction from July 2016 to February 2020. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Corporate Systems Officer since March 2020.

In addition to their industry experience, Rick also contributed to academia as an Adjunct University Associate at the University of Tasmania from January 2015 to January 2018, specifically within the School of Chemistry.

Rick Barber's work experience highlights their expertise in project management, research, and development, as well as their ability to innovate and commercialize new technologies in various industries.

Rick Barber completed their Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Victoria in the years 1994 to 1999. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Microtechnology from Swinburne University of Technology and completed it between 2001 and 2005.
