Koen van Veen has a diverse work experience in various roles. Koen started their career in 2015 as a Werver Goede Doelen (door-to-door) for Direct Result Marketing, where they recruited donors for Oxfam Novib. Koen then worked as a Promotional Agent for PSfm 100% Fieldmarketing, promoting various products in stores. In 2016, Koen joined The Sales Unit as a Sales Agent, recruiting new subscribers for the newspaper 'het Parool'. Koen also worked as a Communications Intern and later as a Communication Employee at Economic Board Utrecht (EBU), where they were responsible for copywriting, social media, and internal communication. In 2017, they worked as a Sales Agent for Fonky Sales, focusing on museum and door-to-door recruitment for lotteries. Koen also conducted graduation research at Adecco, exploring how the company could improve its labor market communication. In 2018, they worked as a Campaign Manager at European Media Partner Nederland, creating cross-media campaigns and selling advertisement space. Koen also had a short-term role as a Customer Support Agent at Picnic supermarkets. Most recently, Koen joined Hogeschool Saxion as a Community Manager in 2018, where they stayed until 2020. Currently, they are working as a Content Marketeer at Traffic Today, starting in 2021.

Koen van Veen obtained their Havo diploma from Twents Carmel College Lyceumstraat in May 2008. Koen then went on to pursue their Bachelor's degree in Communicatiemanagement at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2012 to 2018. During their time at the university, Koen also completed a minor in Marketing Tomorrow from 2015 to 2016. In June 2018, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree from Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Additionally, Koen obtained certification in Google Analytics in January 2016.
